IDEAS FOR BRINGING MISS TWIGGLEY’S TREE ALIVE
1. Visit a cool treehouse! Search online to find treehouses near you, or visit some virtually through these links:
2. What would your dream treehouse look like? Draw a picture of it, or make up a story about it!
3. Draw or describe how Miss Twiggley would decorate her treehouse for Christmas. Check out this video for some festive ideas!
4. Play “I spy” with the delightful illustrations in this book. Here are some ideas to get you started:
*Find Miss Twiggley’s crossword puzzle book (it appears twice!)
*Find seven different things people (and animals) use to float through the flood. Do you think all of these things would actually work as boats?
*Find three ways of hoisting people and animals into the treehouse.
*How many different sleeping places can you find? Which one would you choose?
5. If you’re a true hard-core treehouse fan, try building your own!
